We completed a satisfying job in the town of Ottery St Mary, helping the client to connect a new toilet to the existing foul drainage system.
We were first employed by the client to provide a CCTV drainage survey to enable us to offer advice on where the most viable point was to connect a new WC within the property.
To do this, we used our Mini Cam Solo Pro+ in order to obtain the required footage, tracing the closest point in the main foul line from the proposed new toilet. We were also able to check the condition of the existing pipes.
The system needed to be in place quickly as the plumber was due to arrive the following week. We were able to work alongside the plumber as he completed the internal work. The job involved hand digging an 8m trench from the point where the new internal pipe left the building, linked to the existing foul system via a new Y-junction.
The pipe work was backfilled and compacted with protective pea gravel to stop any damage caused by ground movement. Both turf and slabs reinstated, leaving the site looking as neat and tidy as we found it. The total work took a day to complete – we are always happy to price jobs based on a day, half-day or hourly rate for our clients.
